There's one thing to know here do not order seafood.ice is safe but if you order sea food u better get a nose clip for the smell it was funky

they do have good food ,french fries are not what they were hand cut fries are the best ,why change a good thing? also it smells so musty in there I think you should change that dirty old rug in the entry way , it's well over do.

I've been going to the Goldenrod since I was 5 years old (that was 1956) when my Dad took me there. I'm told I had a hotdog, french fries and a dish of chocolate icecream. Every time we were anywhere near Manchester, we'd stop for my Dad's favorite--Fried Belly Clams--not those weak flavorless clam strips, but the real deal. I introduced my future bride to the Goldenrod by a motorcycle trip from Portland, Maine one Saturday. We would treat our kids to a trip to the Goldenrod while they were growing up and both of them have brought their families there, all the way from Florida to introduce their kids.

There are a lot of restaurants with more ambiance and fancier service, but none with more old-time value and heart. Great food and Ice cream. Do yourself a favor and try it out. I will be again this October when I make my annual Pilgrimage to the North Country.

The food was supplied by Goldenrod Restaurant. I must say that they were the best chicken tenders that I ever ate. Also on the table was lasagna, which was fantastic, and Greek Salad. The Greek Salad was excellent too. I don't know what it was like in years gone by, but the food is pretty fantastic right now. I think it is worth the trip over there and I intend to go again.

Today there is a lot of skimping taking place. The batter isn't as good though it still is good. The French fries used to be made from scratch on the premises but today they aren't. If my favorite restaurant can do it, so can The Goldenrod! Hot dogs are excellent as is their lobster roll One thing that's a real treat is their homemade ice cream! A small size is all you need as it's very large while anything larger may go to waist. Plenty of ice cream choices for all! A REAL Treat!
